Warning: What Can You Do About Indoor Playground Right Now

If you live in an area like we do in Western New York (we're in Rochester!) With beautifully hot summers and cold snowy winters, you will know your choices for your kid's birthday celebration are mostly determined by the weather.
As an August baby, we always had little family parties out at my house. However, together with sons born in November and March, we're always left to book an indoor place for their parties, if we decided to have them that year. While those with kids with summer birthdays may seem lucky to have so many options at their disposal, it may also often feel overwhelming.
While in Climbing Vines Cafe and Play we might be biased since we sponsor indoor parties, I wished to share with all the 5 most common reasons we hear out of previous celebration clients to reserve indoor summer evenings with us. To them, the stress-free nature of the indoor summer celebration is a no-brainer, and they're not looking back! After their initial indoor summer party, they continue hosting with us year after year.

1) NO WEATHER WORRIES

The most common cause for a client to reserve a summer indoor celebration with us is they don't need to stalk the weather forecast for updates in the weeks leading up to the celebration. And if you've ever had to cancel or postpone your child's birthday due to weather, then you realize how heartbreaking that can be.
We get dozens of calls every summer a few days before someone's outdoor celebration is supposed to happen to find out if we've got an open slot for them within our indoor party place due to weather woes. We can normally pull this off if the place remains open, but hosts will unfortunately need to starve and allow all their guests are aware of the change in place and probably shift in time, and also change all their catering requests to accommodate their new party program.
While of course rain is likely the biggest obstacle you might face, intense heat, unseasonably cool weather, and wind may also pose issues for your food, decorations, along with your guests' possessions. You'll likely end up investing in a tent or some other weather barrier simply to ease your mind somewhat, which can be costly and require lots of precious time to set up and take down. I will not even tell the narrative of the time my Dad put up a tent for a party in a windstorm and wound up with an insurance coverage for 4 ruined automobiles when it withdrew (weights and anchors and all!) ...

2) CHANGING IT UP

Aside from the obvious weather concerns it's possible to avoid with a indoor party, there can also just be something so simple and lovely about a indoor summer celebration. Guests will not need to be worried about bringing towels and sunscreen and sunglasses and swimsuits and changes of clothing and bug spray... you understand.
Sometimes it's nice to have a brief break from the outdoors, sip coffee in an air borne cafe, and have an actual conversation with other adults while the kids play, instead of chasing kids around trying to receive their fur on them or keeping them away from your in-ground pool. I am not sure about you, but I can never really relax at an outdoor summer birthday party with a two and a 4 year old. While they sure do have a good time running around, we typically leave in a daze or with a tantrum, unsure whether we even had time to talk or check in with everybody.
While I absolutely love a fantastic barbecue or summer grilling extravaganza, I also find it refreshing when we can take a break from the same-old backyard celebration and spend a few hours in a relaxing, cool, and most importantly-- contained! -- air.
It's also freeing as a guest to have the remainder of the day to do as we wish as a family and not need to be concerned about getting the children to a bath right after the celebration or stopping home to cool off and change clothing.
I promise that in the event you book an indoor celebration for your son or daughter, guests (especially family) may seem a bit confused at first (why not take advantage of the summer weather while we could, right?) But after hosting countless indoor parties I can tell you for certain that on the day-of, you and your guests will realize how pleasant it can be to reunite within an air-conditioned private celebration for a few hours.

3) EATING IN PEACE

Speaking of how relaxing a indoor jungle gym - www.twitarcade.com -, air-conditioned celebration could be, can we talk about food for a moment?
At the moment, my sweet 4 year old boy is terrified of bees, and also the fastest way to send him into a tailspin would be for him to sit down to eat a cupcake or his meal and have bees swarming around. Therefore, for our loved ones, the meals factor alone could be sufficient to warrant an indoor celebration.
Eating in peace without needing to find shade or a seat or a location away from pests is just one of those things that you do not realize can be so glorious before you attend your fourth or fifth outdoor summer gathering and THEN get a rest from them. One of the most common things we hear is how nice it is to just sit and eat and see the kiddos play without having any venue-related cares or worries. This is going to be particularly important when you are going to be needing older family members attend that can battle with being portable in the sand or marijuana and finding seating at outdoor parties.
Plus, when was the last time you attended an outdoor summer celebration with a complete espresso bar and cafe available for visitors to enjoy now they don't need to worry about running around chasing their kids in the heat? Don't worry, we have you covered there, literally!

While celebration aesthetic may not be a determining factor for every family, it sure is significantly easier to create a themed extravaganza which lighting a youngster's face up as soon as the party's inside. The decorations demanded are often less since the area is smaller and contained contained, and you won't need to be concerned about balloons and streamers blowing all about or procuring table covers .
Because we do host cellular events outside at Climbing Vines Cafe and Play, I will also speak from experience when I say the time it takes to install (and take down!) Decorations for an outdoor party compared to a indoor celebration usually ends up being double. Finding great places to hang banners, needing two people to hold and protect everything, and finding weights or other restraints for everything can be a true hassle on party day.
And you will have enough to worry about this day, right?
Furthermore, if your pinterest planks are full of cute centerpieces, a candy bar, or anything which may be affected by wind (or bring bees!) You will likely have to restrategize for an outdoor soiree.
And of course decoration typically can only get used once if used outside, but repurposed again and if used for an indoor event. Our guests that sponsor indoor occasions, especially those who spent significant money into decoration or labored hard to create their very own, are pleased to find they could usually create a huge chunk of the money back by reselling their materials something such as Facebook Marketplace.

Speaking of cash, probably the greatest misconception I hear from clients is that they wish to sponsor a party at their house to save themselves the leasing fee of an indoor area. I usually laugh at this because it makes perfect sense, that is, if you have never hosted an outside celebration.
With all the"extras" like tents, chair rentals, additional decorations, weather reinforcements, clean-up provides, games and activities for your children (that you won't need to supply at a play area!) It's very possible that you will wind up spending MUCH more hosting a celebration at your home or an outdoor venue than you would inside.
I am not sure how other indoor spaces manage their equipment, but we just charge guests to get additional drinks and supplies and these on the day of the celebration should they end up needing themand we also allow parties to bring in their OWN meals, dessert, and decoration should they choose!
Money aside, spending countless hours cleaning before, during, and after the celebration may also have a toll. Would not it be nice to walk into a sparkling clean space and leave with your guests once the party's over, not needing to worry about the cleanup, garbage removal, tent teardown, etc?
It's possible to just head home and relax with your loved ones (yes, maybe outside!)
Along with the time spent cleaning prior to and after the party, would not it ALSO be nice to not have to play"host" throughout the event? For clients that bring in their own food and decor, our dedicated celebration assistants set up everything, refill and fix food and beverages as needed, clear dishes, cut and serve the cake, and then pack up all of the leftovers in the end of the celebration!
In the end, it is your child's special day and you wish to spend those precious hours making memories and visiting with your guests-- not running around chasing your decorations or refilling the fruit bowl innumerable times.
So save everyone (and especially your own family!) We would be honored to provide you with an easy, breezy experience that will leave your entire guest list feeling joyful, grateful, and full of love after spending a relaxing (yet fun-filled!) day together.
